Plain terms for using CompIQ. If something here is unclear, ask — we would rather explain it than rely on you not reading it.
Who can use it
CompIQ is invite only while it is early. An invite is for one email address and works once. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep the password to yourself and turn on two-factor authentication.
What a CompIQ price is
Every figure CompIQ shows is an asking price estimate, built from what is listed for sale right now. It is not a sold price and not an appraisal. Asking prices run above sold prices, often well above, and a card that has been listed at a number for a year has not sold at that number.
We show the working — the listing count, the spread, the recent activity — so you can judge a figure rather than take it on trust. Use it as one input. Buying, selling and insuring decisions are yours, and CompIQ is not liable for what you decide.
Your cards and your photographs
They stay yours. You give us permission to store them and to show them back to you. If you turn training consent on, you also allow us to use copies to improve card identification; that is off by default and reversible. See Privacy.
Only upload photographs you took or have the right to use.
Fair use
Scanning costs real money per card, so accounts have scan allowances. Do not script the site, resell the valuations as a data feed, or try to reach another account’s data. Accounts doing any of those get suspended.
Availability
This is early software run by a small team. It will occasionally be down or wrong. We do not promise uptime, and we do not promise every identification is correct — which is exactly why every one of them can be corrected, and why we ask you to.
Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like, and we will delete what belongs to it — see Privacy. We may close an account that abuses the service, and will say why.
